STOP!
I just want to love,
but I can’t,
no, I can’t.
Yes I can!
They don’t have the right
to take away a feeling such as love.
Thousands of times stronger than an ignorant society
of homophobes, erotophobes, and transphobes
influenced by a “normal nation”
BUT WAIT!
Aren’t we half of the nation who gave birth to
the Emancipation Proclamation
and fought to remove blacks from plantations?
When will the time come for homosexual liberation?
I’m exhausted from waiting,

For my turn to elate,
to celebrate
to switch the concentration from debating
to loving
